Curnis serves as Vice President of Human Resources & Workforce Services for Savio HR Solutions. His previous experience includes ten years as VP of the Health Careers Center & Director of Unemployment Insurance Program; five years as Director of Human Resources for St. Dominic – Jackson Memorial Hospital; and 18 years with Mississippi Department of Employment Security (MDES). The last ten years with MDES were served as an Unemployment Insurance Administrative Law Judge.
He is a graduate of Jackson State University and his leadership education includes completing Mississippi Economic Council’s Leadership Mississippi Program, MS State Personnel Board’s Leadership and Supervisory Training Program, Mississippi Judiciary College Administrative Law Program and University of Southern Mississippi’s Training and Development Certificate Program. He has conducted staff development leadership training programs for hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, educational institutions, community service organizations, professional associations and for the Mississippi National Guard. Curnis has more than 30 years’ experience in Human Resources and 22 years’ experience in leadership training and conflict resolution.
Curnis maintains membership in several local and national professional human resources organizations and has attained the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification, the Society for Human Resources Management’s Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP), and Certificate in Healthcare Human Resources (CHHR).
Jim has been employed by Savio HR Solutions (MHA Solutions), as Director for 21 years. Prior to joining Savio HR Solutions, he was employed with the Mississippi Department of Employment Security (MDES) for 12 years. During his tenure with this agency, he worked in the positions of Employment Interviewer, Supervising Interviewer, Program Specialist, Chief Technical Services, and lastly as Asst. Chief of the Benefit Payments Department. This is the department where all initial determinations are made on claimant’s eligibility to receive benefits. Prior to working with MDES, he was employed in restaurant management with Waffle House for 3 years, where he was last employed as a District Manager.
He is a 1982 graduate of Troy State University in Troy, Alabama. He is a member of the Capital Area Human Resource Association, UWC (Strategic Services on Unemployment & Workers’ Compensation), AHAUCG (Allied Hospital Association Unemployment Compensation Group), and MHA Society for Human Resource Administration.
He has provided UI cost management and UI claims management best practices training to HR associations and employers.
Tammy has been employed as Unemployment Claims Coordinator with Savio HR Solutions (MHA Solutions) for almost three years. Tammy brings to the team 20 years of Human Resources experience in the healthcare and food industry. Before she joined the Savio HR Solutions team she was the Employee Relations Manager for Elior North America and St. Dominic Hospital.
In her previous roles she was responsible for FMLA management, orienting new employees on HR policies and procedures, helping mediate conflict resolution between managers and employees, performance management, and onboarding new employees.
She is a 1991 graduate of Hinds Community College and a 2007 graduate of Belhaven University. Tammy is a member of the Capital Area Human Resource Association.
