Several wage and hour updates are taking effect nationwide in 2026. While not all changes apply to every state, we want to ensure all employees are informed, supported and aware of how these updates may affect pay practices and workplace policies.

  • Minimum Wage Adjustments: Many states and cities across the country have increased their minimum wage rates for 2026. These changes do not affect all locations, but all applicable laws are being reviewed to ensure full compliance.
  • Overtime & Classification Updates: Some states have updated the salary thresholds for exempt employees. Roles are being evaluated to ensure they meet the appropriate criteria and any employees whose classification may change will be notified.
  • Pay Transparency Requirements: More states now require salary ranges in job postings and expanded access to pay-scale information. They are updating internal and external job postings to meet these requirements.
  • Timekeeping & Break Compliance: Accurate timekeeping remains essential. All hours worked, including remote work, should be recorded. All meal and rest- break guidelines should be followed.

Mississippi does not have a state minimum wage, so the federal minimum wage still applies. However, employers operating across state lines must adapt to the new 2026 guidelines.

With rising minimum wages, evolving overtime rules, and expanding pay transparency requirements, employers must stay vigilant. Regular audits, updated policies, and clear communication will help ensure compliance and support a fair, competitive workplace.
